Checking the proof version of my dust cover for the first time!

Updated: Sep 7, 2019

It was about a month ago that I received from Lulu - my self-publishing company - the first proof copy of my dust jacket to be thoroughly checked by me; below is the screen shot of when I viewed all my hard work for the first time - holding my breath and crossing my fingers that everything would be correct!

I have to say that after reading and editing the proof copy of each Lulu book page set up, and ensuring that my editor combed the many pages for any last-minute grammar, punctuation or 'glitch' errors, the dust jacket seemed a doddle. However, as with any editing to do with a novel (or any type of book), every word, phrase, sentence, punctuation mark and the efficiency and 'sparkle' of the precis of your tome, and most important of all - the graphics on your cover, have to be 120% 'hitting the mark'.

According to book seller statistics, the paramount reason why potential buyers of a novel will purchase it... is because they are attracted to and specifically... they like the cover... Or conversely, they won't buy a book because they don't like the cover.
